Campiello (Italian) is the heart of the Old Town of Corfu, which belongs to the Unesco World Heritage List.
(The campiello in Venetian town planning identifies a field of smaller dimensions, roughly corresponding to the squares or large towns.)
The Campiello of Corfu is the oldest and most picturesque areas in the Old Town of Corfu. It is actually a maze of high Venetian residential buildings, narrow alleys and small squares (campiellos) where the visitor easily loses the sense of time and space.
