Mon Repos (Paleopolis)

Mon Repos is a very large park that stretches along the archaeological  site of Paleopolis (the remains of ancient Corfu). The palace of Mon Repos was built in 1831 by the British Commissioner Frederic Adams. Today the palace hosts the Archaeological Museum of Paleopolis .

Inside the park lies the ancient temple of Kardaki, the most well preserved ancient monument on the island.

Kardaki Temple is an archaic doric temple built at the end of the 6th century B.C.

The Temple of Hera or Heraion is an archaic temple built around 610 BC.
