The building was built in 1691 and was originally the club of the Venetian nobles of Corfu, “loggia di Nobili” in Italian.
In 1720 it was turned into a theater. It was the first theater in Corfu and the first in the later Greek territory.
Made entirely of carved Corfiot stone, it remains to this day an ornament of the Renaissance style, whose exterior is decorated with arches and baroque sculptures.
