Erimitis is a virgin ecosystem with a total area of about 500 acres in northeastern Corfu directly opposite the Albanian coast.
The 9 meter high lighthouse on the islet of Kapareli or Peristeres, located at the last border of the Greek maritime borders, was built in 1823, during the period of British rule.
