Angelokastro of Corfu is one of the most important Byzantine castles in Greece. It is located very close to Paleokastritsa and is built on top of a steep, rocky hill. It is the westernmost stronghold of the Byzantine Empire and the Despotate of Epirus, where Corfu belonged until the middle of the 13th century.
