The Catholic Cathedral & Metropolitan Church of Saints James and Christopher (Duomo) is the center of worship services of the island’s catholics. It functions as a Catholic Metropolitan Church of the Archdiocese of Corfu, Kefallinia – Zakynthos. The church preserves some remarkable ecclesiastical paintings and tombstones, as well as an ecclesiastical instrument of the middle of the 19th century. The reconstruction of the temple after the bombings of the Second World War was completed in 1970, while the Temple was last renovated in 2005.
