It is a thematic village with the obvious influences of the Venetian conquerors with its own church, square, folklore and press museums, coffee shops, restaurant and traditional small shops.
Danilia (or Boua)Village has been the suitable setting for film and television productions for years. The first major production to take advantage of this setting was “For Your Eyes Only”, starring James Bond (Roger Moore) in 1981.
More recently, the producers of the great British television production The Durrells, which started in 2015 on the island, chose the village to shoot many of the important scenes that evoke the atmosphere of another era.
In the summer of 2022, the shooting of the film “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” by the Greek-Canadian actress, screenwriter, producer and director Nia Vardalos takes place here.
For the past 10 years the village belongs to the greek hotel chain of Grecotel and is now called Grecotel Danilia Village.
