The film “The Tears of the Mountain” is a metaphor of the Odyssey at the beginning of the last century. A bunch of stone masons wanders where there is work, building houses, bridges, schools and churches. Their materials are stones, the mountain’s tears. Not far away the war is raging. Because of this war, they have been cut off from their villages for almost ten years. The effort of the master craftsman Markos and the craftsmen to return home develops into a cruel and destructive Odyssey.
